Statement of a problem № m102950

Yen, Lin, and Chiu (2013) compared the number of male and female people with an intelligence disability (ID) to the proportion of males and females in the general population. In their study, they reported that the number of males with an ID was 49,451 and the number of females with an ID was 45,935. The researchers identified that the proportion of males and females in the general population was 50.8% males and 49.2% females. Using these proportions to compute expected frequencies, conduct a chi-square goodness-of-fit test and decide whether to retain or reject the null hypothesis.
